Even More Vampires at PCA 2009

Jessica's got another report, about yet another session on vampires at the PCA 2009 conference. The Twilight series and Sookie Stackhouse novels are the focus again.

  1. Hey Laura,

Thanks for linking! there's another Twilight panel tomorrow but I think even I am vamped out at this point (and I haven;t even attended the dozen or so Buffy panels).

But I will be posting at least two more romance panels tomorrow.

Oh, and you should know that you are here with us in spirit, your name coming up quite frequently in discussion of everything from this blog, to romance research, to authors' cultures and their take on the Regency.

(Although, I must add that you are always referred to as "the elusive and mysterious Laura Vivanco". So mysterious, indeed, that at a meeting not one hour ago Glen Thomas accused Eric Selinger of BEING you -- on the grounds that no one has ever seen you and Eric together at the same time.)

    You are missed!

My pleasure, quite literally, as it's really lovely to be able to read about the conference while it's actually happening (although it does make me feel a bit envious).

I'll admit that vampires aren't my special area of interest, and I haven't read the Sookie or Black Dagger Brotherhood novels or watched Buffy. But it was still interesting to read about the panels.

    Great!

That's true. But An Goris has seen both of us separately, and I'm sure she'll confirm that we look rather different, so unless I/Eric am really a shapeshifter capable of posting from the UK and then flying across to the US each day (which, despite the number of vampire panels at the PCA conference would still seem a rather unrealistic scenario), I think that should be enough proof to convince Glen that I do exist and am not Eric.

    You are missed!

Awww. Thanks. I hope I can get to next year's conference in Belgium. Even without vampire powers I should be able to get there.
