The Encyclopedia's quite expensive, so I imagine it's most likely to be bought by libraries but it claims to be "the first encyclopedia solely devoted to the popular romance fiction genre" and was "written by contributors who are scholars, librarians, and industry experts with broad knowledge of the genre". Among those scholarly contributors are:
- Dr. Elizabeth Reid Boyd (Edith Cowan University)
- Dr. Amy Burge (University of Birmingham)
- jay Dixon (author of The Romance Fiction of Mills & Boon, 1909-1990s)
- Dr. Beth Driscoll (University of Melbourne)
- Associate Professor Lisa Fletcher (University of Tasmania)
- Dr. Rosemary Gaby (University of Tasmania)
- Dr. Claire Knowles (La Trobe University)
- Associate Professor John Markert (Cumberland University)
- Dr. Jodi McAlister (Deakin University)
- Professor Eric Murphy Selinger (DePaul University)
- Professor Wendy Wagner (Johnson & Wales University)
